читать дальшеX Japan (Sugizo and Yoshiki) in Baltimore in brief.
Aug 1st, 2010 by Lee Shichi M.
I’m going to post a longer write up with lots of photos about X Japan’s stop in Baltimore, but here is what you need to know from X Japan’s public appearance and the private press conference.
They played Forever Love first, then they MC’d in the middle. The audience was yelling a bunch of things out to them and Yoshiki responded to a few things. Which was odd considering there was about 4,000 people in there.(but, nothing of consequence. “I love you”, “I love you too”, etc) In his talk Yoshiki confirmed DC and NYC for X Japan’s October tour. Then they wrapped up with Endless Rain. I expected the audience to start singing but they never did
We were then wisked back stage for a press conference.
I had the first question, I asked if it was true that he and Taiji had reconciled. He said he wouldn’t quite use that word but they indeed had recently talked for the first time since hide’s funeral. He said that it was actually Toshi that got them talking. He said that while he couldn’t confirm the Taiji at Yokohama rumors because it wasn’t official yet, they are talking about it. In response to another question following up on mine, yes, you might just hear some of Taiji’s compositions if he plays. Yoshiki sound like he was reasonably sure they would in fact play something of his when he said that.
I then asked if he had thought about remastering and re-releasing “Vanishing Vision”, since “Blue Blood” and “Jealousy” were recently given that treatment. He said that he probably should. He didn’t sound adverse to it. I’m still not really sure what his opinion is on the old material. Its rarely played, and it wasn’t re-released with everything else, so I’ve always thought maybe he didn’t like it. But you can never say for sure.
He was asked about Lollapalooza, and said that it was partially his managers influence in having them debut in such a manner. He mentioned that they weren’t really sure what language to perform in, and actually at this point he asked us for our input. This was a bit unexpected, and the person who initially asked about the language suggested they split time between languages. He seems to be in agreement with that, we’ll see next week what they decide.
This lead into talk about the new album, which according to him is now pretty much done, and has more new material on it then previously mentioned. He specifically mentioned either at the concert or in the conference that Jade is done being recorded. There are songs on it that don’t have names yet he mentioned. Songs he mentioned that will be on the album include: IV, Jade, Born to be Free, Tears, Kurenai, and Rusty Nail. He didn’t give a release date, but said Jade will be the first single off the album.
When I asked him about the h.Naoto collaboration he said it was simple as him seeing some of the pieces in print, thinking it was cool, and getting in touch with them.(h.Naoto had some interesting things to say in his own appearance, such as he’s downsizing. More on him in a future post).
There was some other fluff that I can’t remember enough to paraphrase off the top of my head, but I’m sure there will be videos of the conference up somewhere soon. Like 5 people were recording it.
Later in the night I saw Yoshiki not 100 yards from the con’s main door, eating dinner outside with…someone. You’ll just have to guess who it was ~_^
I commented to my friends that eating dinner curbside, close enough to hit the convention center with a rock, was particularly ballsy.
I guess that post wasn’t that brief after all. Pics still coming, though.
s o n n y , спасибо!
Forever Love & Endless Rain...

Do not upload or post this anywhere else** Please also support the band by going to their upcoming concerts!
First, let me say why I uploaded this. The reason is because I want people to see what they missed. This is Yoshiki and Sugizo together performing such moving music straight from the depths of Jrock history. I wanted to share this with you. You may be new to Jrock, or old to it like me, but regardless this is what music is all about!
[The videos I took at the 1st Mariner Arena when X JAPAN played after the Otakon 2010 Masquerade. I waited in line from 9 AM - 6 PM, got in first, and still was 2nd row center due to the Press.]
